As well as supplying Specials, we are also able to provide Contract Manufacturing Services. BCM Specials has a rich heritage in the pharmaceutical processing industry and have been supplying products to a wide range of global customers for over 70 years.
- Our sterile and non-sterile GMP facilities are ideal for the manufacture of pre-clinical and early phase clinical trial batches and for low volume, niche commercial scale production.
- We hold a manufacturer’s licence, a ‘Specials’ licence and an IMP licence and we are routinely inspected by the MHRA.
- We have on-site Technical experts to ensure that your products are delivered exactly to your requirements and we take pride in producing products of the highest quality.

We have over 10 years experience of the contract fill finish of sterile products for use in clinical trials and have worked with small, virtual businesses right through to very large pharmaceutical organisations.
- We can process products aseptically inside class A isolators – ideal for biologicals such as proteins and recombinant DNA. We also operate autoclaves and we can terminally sterilise products as well.
- We routinely handle glass ampoules, vials, eye drop assemblies and screw cap bottles.
- We are an established manufacturer of clinical trial batches so you can have total confidence in the ability of our Technical team to tailor our offer in order to meet your specific needs.
We have recently expanded our class D non-sterile production facilities and can now extend our offer to include the manufacture of bulk solutions and suspensions up to 200L.
- We have a Fryma VME20 unit for the manufacture of creams and ointments up to a batch size of 20kg - ideal for clinical trial batches or for formulation development work.
- We can fill products into a range of containers including bottles, jars, tubs and tubes.
In addition, we are also able to manufacture a wide range of non-sterile dosage forms including capsules, powder filled sachets, pastilles, suppositories and reefers.
We share a site with our sister company, BCM Limited, who are able to manufacture large scale non-sterile liquid products in their factories enabling your product to be scaled up from lab scale to pilot scale through to commercial scale… all on the same site.
A dedicated Technical Account Manager (TAM) will handle your project from initial enquiry right through to release and despatch of your finished product.
- Your TAM will deal with all aspects of the project including commercial, technical and operational issues.
- This ensures good communication and rapid responses throughout the course of the project, which enables us to be flexible in our offer without compromising on lead-times or quality.
We are able to conduct analytical and microbiological testing of products on site including ICH stability testing, method development and validation.
We also offer a Qualified Person release service so that you can be assured that your product has been manufactured in accordance with the requirements of EU cGMP.
